Manufacturer Details
Contact details for the manufacturer or Australian importer responsible for placing the product on the market. This populates SDS Section 1 and the emergency contact requirement.
24-Hour Emergency Number — Schedule 8 MCoP requirement: All Australian SDS must include a 24-hour emergency telephone number available at all times. Two options:
Poisons Information Centre — 13 11 26 (FREE): A public service staffed by clinical toxicologists, available 24/7. No registration or subscription required — suitable for most products.
CHEMCALL — 1800 127 406 (Subscription required): A specialist service where you register your products; operators provide product-specific emergency advice. Annual fee applies — recommended for higher-risk or complex chemical products.
Must be available 24/7, 365 days. Free option: Poisons Information Centre 13 11 26 (no registration needed). Subscription service: CHEMCALL 1800 127 406.
Ingredients & Composition
List the ingredients in the product formulation. This is the most important section — our scientists can determine most other information from a complete ingredient list.
Hazardous ingredients only required. You only need to list ingredients classified as hazardous under the HCIS. Our scientists will list any remaining balance as "Non-hazardous ingredients — remainder to 100%" on the SDS. Providing the full formulation is welcome but not required.

Concentrations: Ranges are acceptable where exact values are commercially sensitive — e.g. "10–30%". Per Schedule 8 of the MCoP, all concentrations should account for 100% of the formulation where possible.

CAS Numbers: A CAS number is required for any hazardous ingredient. If unsure, provide the name and our scientists will locate the CAS number and confirm the classification.

Proprietary ingredients: If a specific ingredient is commercially sensitive, you may list it as "Proprietary blend" with its concentration — however our scientists will need the actual identity to prepare a compliant SDS. All information provided is kept strictly confidential.

Hazard Classification
Indicate what you know about the product's hazards. Everything below is optional — our scientists will determine the correct GHS classification from your ingredient list.
Not sure? Hazard classification is one of the most technical aspects of SDS preparation — it's exactly why you're here. Tick whatever you know and leave the rest blank. If you have an existing MSDS, old SDS, or ingredient supplier safety sheets, upload them in Step 6 and we'll use them as reference.
— or, if you have specific knowledge, tick applicable hazards below:
Physical Hazards (tick all that apply)
Health Hazards (tick all that apply)
Environmental Hazards (tick all that apply)
If you know any GHS hazard statement codes, enter them here. Our scientists will assign all H and P statements from the classification — leave blank if unsure.
Transport & Dangerous Goods
DG classification is required in SDS Section 14 under the ADG Code. Select "Unsure" if you're not sure — we'll assess classification based on your ingredient list and product properties.
When is a product a Dangerous Good? A product is classified as a DG if it meets the criteria for one or more of the 9 DG Classes under the Australian Dangerous Goods Code — for example: Class 3 (Flammable liquids), Class 6.1 (Toxic substances), Class 8 (Corrosive substances), or Class 9 (Miscellaneous, including environmentally hazardous substances). If your product contains flammable, toxic, corrosive, or strongly environmentally hazardous ingredients, it is likely a DG.
Is this product classified as a Dangerous Good for transport?
The product will be declared as Not Regulated for Transport in SDS Section 14. If our scientists identify any DG characteristics during the process, we will contact you to confirm the classification before finalising the document.
Documents & Submission
Upload any supporting documentation, add notes, and submit your request. We'll review your submission and be in touch with a quote and timeline within 1 business day.
Providing a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) or any ingredient supplier SDSs significantly speeds up the process. Even an outdated MSDS is helpful as a reference for product history and previous classifications.
